My hair falls flat within an hour of styling it.

ELIMINATE BUILD-UP

“Oil build-up is the primary cause of limp hair,” says Nunzio Saviano, a New York-based hair stylist and salon owner. If you have fine or thin hair, Nunzio recommends lathering up at least every other day. Thick or coarse? At least every third day. Between cleansing, soak up excess oil with dry shampoo, like BBLUNT Back To Life Dry Shampoo For Instant Freshness Spring Fling (₹ 550, nykaa.com).

GET TO THE ROOT

Lots of women go straight to a curling iron or hot rollers to boost body, Nunzio says. However, creating volume only at the ends exacerbates your hair’s tendency to fall flat. His advice: Start with volumising spray at the roots. Try Bed Head Motor Mouth (₹999; amazon.in). Next, flip hair upside down and hit your roots with the dryer before curling, or set with large hot rollers, wrapping hair all the way to the root. Finish with a spritz of a dry shampoo.

My hair colour fades too fast.
