This confident follow-up is an unambiguous improvement across the board and a triumph of wargame design. From the campaign structure to the simple mechanics and customizable armies, Unity of Command II brings renewed vigor to World War II strategy.

One of my high bars for a strategy game’s sequel is that I can unreservedly recommend the game over its predecessor. Unity of Command II is one of those games, though I was initially wary of all the new mechanics added to an otherwise delightfully simple wargame.
