Can Anyone Topple Scott Lloyd?

With four months to go, the race for the most wanted cup is hotting up!

Can Anyone Topple Scott Lloyd?

When Scott Lloyd slipped his net under the considerable frame of the Burghfield Common on 12th April, the destination of the 2017 Most Wanted Cup seemed all but assured. As the only fish on the Most Wanted list carrying Platinum status, worth five points, there seemed little chance anyone would be able to topple Scott.

Yet with four months of the year still remaining, a gang of pretenders have slowly gathered behind Scott, any of whom could still snatch the trophy from his grasp with one final capture over the remainder of the year.

Amongst the favourites to topple Scott is George Benos, an experienced big-fish angler enjoying one of the best, if not the best, year of his angling life. George is one of 10 anglers on three points thanks to his May capture of the recently deceased Parrot at 62½lb from Cranwells Lake on the Wasing Estate. George’s capture of the British record fish came just 38 hours before he banked Black Spot at 58lb 6oz from Wingham Carp Lake, although unfortunately for him that fish is not on the Most Wanted list.
