Back To Blakemere

Having been invited down to Blakemere Leisure by my good friend Dave Marvell to see the planned netting of the Lake, I decided I would get myself booked on for a few nights fishing beforehand.

Keeping an eye on catch reports prior to me arriving I knew there had been a few fish coming out, but with some cold easterly winds due I also knew conditions were not going to be on my side. Arriving at the Lake there were already a few anglers on, so I decided to go for a chat to see what was happening. After speaking to one or two of the lads and consuming a couple of cups of tea, it was pretty clear what lay ahead. With the lads set up in the car park 1 swims being bivvy-bound due to the conditions, I knew that wasn’t the place I wanted to be, so I set off to car park 2, and on getting down to the Lake the conditions were considerably warmer on this bank.
