En Delhi, en 2016, la contaminación era tan densa que el viento la arrastraba al interior de edificios modernos; en Ciudad de México, en 1972, me picaban los ojos por el esmog, y en la misma década, pero en Gary, podía olerlo dentro de un auto con las ventanas cerradas.
A pesar de que la contaminación es omnipresente –o quizá por eso–, no se toman medidas suficientes para combatirla. Es indignante, ya que se trata de un asesino global que provoca siete millones de muertes prematuras cada año. Pero también es una oportunidad, ya que la solución está en nuestras manos.
