COVID patients with the Delta strain are twice as likely to need hospital treatment as those with the Alpha variant, says a study.
Researchers looked at more than 43,000 cases in England between March and May.
Nearly three-quarters of the patients with Delta or Alpha – also known as the Kent variant – were unvaccinated. Just 1.8% had been given both jabs.
