Josh Taylor was mobbed by home fans when his car passed through Prestonpans but pal Lee McGregor reckons the undisputed world champion deserves an open-top bus parade.
The Tartan Tornado got a hero’s welcome as he returned from his sensational triumph over Jose Ramirez in Las Vegas at the weekend.
British and European title holder McGregor was along for the ride in the US had originally hoped to be on the undercard.
But he lapped up the experience and is just hoping Taylor’s incredible achievement will finally get him the recognition outside Scotland he deserves.
The champ has been front and back page news in his homeland for a fortnight but his fight was snubbed by British broadcasters and streamed online by Fite TV.
The UK is starting to wake up to the fact the country has its first-ever four-belt unified champion and McGregor believes all eyes should be on one of Britain’s greatest stars.
