 FIGHTING INTO THE FUTURE.

A “RANGER Force” of special operations soldiers will be set up to work with foreign militaries as part of a major defence shake-up.

The four, 250-strong Army ranger battalions will be launched with £120million of funding over four years.

The ranger plan was announced yesterday as the Royal Marines revealed a new “Future Commando Force” look.

The commandos showed off their new camouflage gear, and C8 Diemaco assault rifles, during exercises at the Bovington Camp in Dorset.

A Defence Command Paper will be unveiled on Monday outlining the biggest overhaul in UK defence since the Cold War, revealing a new “leaner and meaner” Army.
