There is something magnifying about urvashi Rautela. The supermodel-turned-actress has grabbed everyone’s eyeballs with her sizzling dance moves in Yo Yo Honey Singh’s international album Love Dose. From portraying the fun and chirpy Minnie in ‘Singh Saab The Great’ to playing an overpowering ghost in ‘Great Grand Masti’, Urvashi has fixed a spot for herself in B-town. She stole the show at the recently conducted Wedding Vows Bridal Expo in Hyderabad with her killer looks and bodacious walks. She opens up to Shwetha.S about life, films, love and the future.
1) From holding the record for winning maximum number of beauty pageants to establishing yourself in Bollywood, what has so far been the most important moment of your life?
It’s been quite amazing. More than that, it has been a magical journey so far. There are so many things that i cherish. i gained a lot of confidence after winning Miss Tourism World. i also experienced a tremendous and positive change in myself during the pageant. Then came my first International album ‘Love Dose’ with Yo Yo Honey Singh and now ‘Great Grand Masti’! Everything from winning pageants till now, has been truly mystic and wonderful.
2) Did ‘Great Grand Masti’ prove to be a challenge as it was your first attempt in comedy?
In GGM (Great Grand Masti), i play the role of an overpowering and over-controlling ghost with an essence of beauty and innocence added to it. Portraying this character was indeed challenging as i was paired opposite Ritesh Deshmukh, Vivek Oberoi and Aftab Shivdasani who are absolute professionals in humour. unfortunately in Bollywood there are no awards given to comedians to appreciate their talent. it is a difficult genre to crack and is often underrated.
3) You recently walked the ramp for Archana Kochhar at the Wedding Vows Show in Hyderabad. How was it different from any other fashion show?
I am an avid and punctilious reader of Wedding Vows. it is the number one Wedding Lifestyle magazine and is a major hit among my family members. My family finds this magazine interesting and they constantly update themselves with the trends and traditions of weddings.
