Society Of Cool
Grazia|December 2018

After a long wait, Soho House has finally opened its doors to very eager potential members in Mumbai. We’re here to tell you what the buzz is about.

Society Of Cool

THE CONCEPT

It’s a members’ club and hotel with restaurants and guest rooms that are open to non-members, too. Its membership, however, strictly caters to creative professionals in fields like music, design, art, film, fashion, tech and the media. But once you’re in, there’s loads to do. It essentially functions as a hub for the creative community to eat, drink, relax, exercise, work and network. As a member, you have access to exclusive events: Movie screenings, art shows and the like. Plus, you get a 20 per cent discount on rooms (and special preference, of course). As with any cool club, there are rules. Our favourite is the ‘no photos policy’. Although the interiors are highly Instagrammable, you are encouraged to put your phone away, live in the moment and also not interrupt (or worse, accidentally photograph) other guests. Another rule is the dress code: Casual. Corporate attire doesn’t match the relaxed atmosphere of the place and is, therefore, discouraged.
