Back then I was overwhelmed with the desire to catch a tiger musky. Their beauty and the fact they don’t come easily strengthened my will to catch one. The fact that the southern waters where I learned to fish for muskies don’t offer hybrids just added to my curiosity. During those times nearly 20 years ago, giant tiger muskies were few and far between, though they are becoming more and more common throughout the Midwest musky range today.
