How does the oldest Ayurvedic beauty brand in India want to impact the ecosystem with their current stance in the market, and the heightened importance of Ayurvedic practices in the world of beauty recently? As Kama Ayurveda turns 20, we speak to the founder and chairman, Vivek Sahni, and Ayurvedic practitioner Dr Vivekananda at their celebratory event about the brand’s trajectory, sustainability, and what’s next for them.
Grazia: As a brand that has been around for two decades, what measures do you plan to take to help the beauty ecosystem, with a focus on Ayurveda?
Vivek Sahni: There are a bunch of different things in the works, mostly focussed on making the industry a lot better. [At this event], I spoke about sustainability, about using allnatural products. Aside from this, our packaging is clean, the factory boasts a sustainable method of production – the location of the physical factory is water-efficient, all the water in the plant right now is recycled.
