There’s definitely more to introverts than just being silent or shy. Simran Ahuja helps you navigate your way while dating one.
It's said that opposites attract. But what do you do when you’re in the mood to get decked to the nines and paint the town red, and all your man wants to do is Netflix and chill in bed? Uh-oh, it’s a case of the classic mismatch. But far from indicating relationship doom, an extrovert-introvert pairing works well. Think of it like yin and yang, sun and moon, or night and day! Despite being polar opposites, they just go well together. “They can make a good pair since they balance each other out—an introvert gives the all-over-the-place extrovert some grounding, and in return, the extrovert gives the introvert an extra boost in social activities,” says Anastasia Dedhia, founder and chief psychologist at Mind Mantra.
This pairing, however, only works if a couple is aware of their personality differences. “While there are other aspects that influence a couple, this plays an important role since it tells us how a person derives his/her energy—whether from the outside world, through friends and adventure or from the inside world of solitude and creativity,” says psychologist and psychotherapist, Sonal Sonawani.
Despite fairytales making everything sound hunky-dory, there’s a lot that goes into this kind of relationship. Here’s a quick guide on how you can squash all the challenges that come your way and make the best of your relationship with an introvert.
‘He isn’t making a move’
You’ve got your eyes on someone, and you two have had a coy exchange of glances and smiles. Then you wait. And wait some more. But he doesn’t come forward or initiate anything. Ladies, it’s the 21st century so maybe it’s time to stop waiting for him to make the first move. It puts a lot of pressure on the guy—more so if he is an introvert! If you feel a spark or get a similar vibe from him, go on and ask him out for a coffee or for a movie. Not screaming about his love from the rooftops doesn’t mean he isn’t interested. Notice the subtle signs, trust your gut and go for it.

Save Valentine's Day ... by Avoiding These Games
Dating can be a difficult process. Traditionally, two people might chit-chat over drinks or dinner, then spend two hours in a darkened theater ignoring each other. This is not the most effective means of getting to know someone. A shared activity is a better way to share the real you with someone else.
