Are you ready for some Football? And tailgating?
We certainly are here at Tailgater. Not that we ever need an excuse to tailgate, as we’ll do so at the drop of a hat. NASCAR, balloon races, concerts...you name it, we’re always ready to fire up the grill,open a cold one and watch the event unfold. However, there’s something extra special about football tailgating, especially college football.
But what is college football without rankings? Exactly. That’s why they have the preseason poll and the weekly regular season polls. We want to know—no we must know—where our teams stand. So let the debates begin, as it’s time again to unveil our Top 25 College Tailgates.
Just like Santa, we made our list and checked it twice. In this 12th annual edition, we either nailed it by ranking your favorite university No. 1—or at least in the top team off the list or somehow ranked a rival higher than your squad. This 2019 version will undoubtedly create some spirited discussions, as we have included eight schools not on last year’s list, including a couple not seen in quite a while.
We hope you enjoy this year’s Top 25. If your favorite team or alma mater didn’t make the cut this year, well...there’s always next year. Please do not attempt this at home. Enjoy!
No.25 FLORIDA STATE UNIVERSITY
HEAD COACH Willie Taggart’s first season guiding the Seminoles was just downright embarrassing. There’s no other way to put it after the team endured their first losing season since 1976. It also ended their consecutive bowl appearance streak at 36 games. They lost to all three major rivals— Miami, Florida and Clemson— and endured five losses by 21 points or more.
