DID you know that Kevin Smith owns a comic book store, Edward Norton a crowdfunding website, Clint Eastwood a ranch hotel and Mark Wahlberg a family restaurant? These celebs are navigating the obstacles owning a small business brings andmaking their businesses work for them.

It’s been said that a business is only as healthy and strong as its cash flow. Yet despite the freedom that running a small business can afford you, it can be extremely challenging. In fact, one of the biggest challenges that small businesses face is cash flow. So, are you a small business owner experiencing cash flow challenges? Well, you’re not alone, according to Richard Mackenzie, sales director at Transaction Capital Business Solutions. “Let’s take a step back and first define what a small business is: The term ‘small’ simply refers to the size of the company in terms of its turn-over and its number of staff,” explains Richard. “According to the Small Business Administration (SBA), over half of all business are run out of the owner’s home. So, it goes without saying that, if you are a freelance photographer running your studio from home, a cake creator running your bakery from your kitchen, or a hairdresser who started your dream hair salon in your garage a few years ago – with a business turnover of less than R20-million per year, this is you!”
