FUTURE SHAPERS,DESIGNER OF EXPERIENCES & INFORMAL LUXURY

These are the core values of Lamborghini says India head Sharad Agarwal as we chase down a convoy of 25 raging bulls on the Bengaluru chapter of the 2021 Lamborghini Day
SIRISH CHANDRAN
FUTURE SHAPERS,DESIGNER OF EXPERIENCES & INFORMAL LUXURY
SHARAD AGARWAL IS NOT IN the business of forgetting things. Lamborghini India has just hit the 300 car milestone but the head of India operations stresses that this is business that takes time. Nobody buys a Lamborghini overnight. Nobody even needs a Lamborghini. But everybody wants a Lamborghini and seeding, nurturing and fuelling that ‘want’ is what occupies his days. It starts with remembering the smallest details, such as how their customers like their coffee so it’s appropriately served without even being asked. Remembering what sparked the ‘want’ so that, years later, the delivery ceremony is appropriately tailored. Even remembering the headaches a journalist might have caused.

“Today no mileage cap for you, Sirish,” he hollers over the raging V8 that I’m caning the absolute hell out of as I give chase to a brace of enthusiastically hustled Huracan Evos. He remembers! It goes back to even before the damn pandemic, when I had my first taste of the Urus. The yellow monster arrived on a flat-bed and I was handed the keys and a 30km mileage cap. Not 30k, but 30km. And me, being in a particular mood after an exhausting lecture by the over-enthu PR person on what constitutes a Super SUV… well… I went and made a big song and dance about it.
