This wasn’t because I doubt their capabilities, but because I am a stuck-up petrol head who is all about big engines, turbos, speed and tyre smoke. The thing is, I always talked trash about EVs.
When Ather launched the 450 a few years back, I had my doubts about its capabilities. My first comments were ‘Huh, what if it runs out in traffic?’, ‘it’ll be expensive’, ‘it will be boring without the IC sound’. Then it hit me, who in their right mind likes the sound of a Honda Activa. I think we can give that point a big pass.

The BMW iX premium electric car which has been launched in India, has achieved five-star ratings in all test categories of the Euro NCAP crash test.
