When I first laid my eyes on the Benelli 600 GT it reminded me a lot of the movie Rocky. The film is based around a struggling boxer Rocky Balboa who eventually ends up becoming one of the most celebrated boxers of all time and is fondly called the Italian Stallion.
When I first laid my eyes on the Benelli 600 GT it reminded me a lot of the movie Rocky. The film is based around a struggling boxer Rocky Balboa who eventually ends up becoming one of the most celebrated boxers of all time and is fondly called the Italian Stallion. Like Rocky, the 600 GT is a short sports tourer with immense capability. But does the 600 GT have enough punch to bag the title of being the Italian Stallion of sports tourers?
Despite its short build and compact design the Benelli 600 GT does look quite intimidating from a distance. At a height of 1280mm, weighing in at 243 kilos, the 600 GT does feel like a handful but therein lies the beauty of its Italian origins. The bike is not intimidating at all, if anything it seems like the most well mannered motorcycle I have ridden in years. The 600 GT is 2150mm long and 840mm wide, it has a wheelbase of 1470mm and a ground clearance of 150mm. With all the right measurements of making a true champion the Italians have catered for outstanding ergonomics and riding comfort on the 600 GT.
