Who’d a thunk it? From its introduction in 1957, the Sportster changed the direction and destiny of The Motor Company in many ways. No longer did buyers have to choose between puny two-stroke singles or big twins. Now there was middleweight with performance. Relative performance anyway, putting out 32 ponies at 4200rpm. Which was hot for the day.
