Manny Marko’s Marvellous Chevy...

Forty-Six Forgiveness
Having owned mainly ’57 Chevs in the past, Manny Marko is now caretaker of this late 1940s Californian styled 1946 Chevrolet Stylemaster kustom. No doubt he was influenced by the time he spent sketching cars like this as a teenager and now his pictures have turned into reality. Music is Manny’s other interest that saw him playing guitar for Dave Last’s Legendary Boy Kings band in the ’80s and ’90s.

“When I saw this car was for sale back in 2014 on the HAMB... I had to have it! It would fit the family of Chevs I had and what I loved was that it was a Westergard style tail-dragging Kustom! It was a bit rough, but with some TLC, it would look Killa!

So I pondered... ask the missus for permission – or wait and ask for forgiveness... decision made, I opted for forgiveness… sent a text, made an offer and a deal was done... now to ask for forgiveness, which was forthcoming – done! Let’s get it home.”

Since arriving in its new home in Australia from Reno Nevada USA, Manny has spent many days under the car tidying up loose ends, detailing the undercarriage, as well as engine and power train work. Before it could be repainted to really “wow” people - all the issues needed to be rectified and that process is ongoing.
