Magnificent MALDIVES

These dream islands in the Indian Ocean are an ideal destination for all the generations

The Maldives has a reputation for being stunning and for good reason - it has endless white sandy beaches with picture-perfect aquamarine waters. But these days the resorts are a far from being just a destination for newlyweds. I was lucky enough to visit with my family, including my lovely 74-yearold mum, Carol. Our stay proved there really is something for everyone there.

Island splits

We divided our time between two islands. The first, Sun Siyam Olhuveli, is a four-star resort that sits in South Malé Atoll and just 45 minutes from the airport by speedboat. It's a large resort made up of three islands - Main Island, Dream Island and Romance Island. Families are welcome, while there are areas that are adults-only too - and they work seamlessly well together. The all-inclusive package is great for families too, as you're not having to say 'no' to your child's every demand.
