The Creative Edge
Woman's Era
|March 2024
Boosting the creative quotient in our daily life.
We human beings often indulge in self-evaluation. It's a part of human nature. We try to find out about our level of self-confidence, how good our communication style is and other such things. This is a good trait that helps us in course correction and become better. But, surprisingly, very few of us try to think how creative we have been.
Look around and we'll find that human creativity has been the driving force behind all the inventions and progress in the world. It is indeed difficult to imagine how the world would have been if human beings were not endowed with the trait of creativity. Creativity has been explained in many ways, but in simple terms, it signifies newness-meaning new ways of looking at things, doing new things or doing things in a new or different way.
There is a simple reason why we don't look at our creativity. Many people have the impression that the resource of creativity is not available to everyone. They think that either one is creative or not creative. It's such thinking that leads people to believe that painters, artists, writers, musicians, filmmakers and other such people are the only examples of creative people. Of course, artists are usual examples of creative people but it doesn't mean that other people don't possess creativity. Psychologists and behavioural scientists are of the firm opinion that the trait of creativity is present in every human being on this Earth. Like many other personal qualities or traits, some people may be more creative than others. It also matters how far one is ready to unleash their creative potential.
