TARA MORICE 'I'M SO PROUD OF STRICTLY BALLROOM'

As she returns to the stage for Menopause The Musical, the actress reflects on the movie role that started it all

Tara Morice's latest foray into musical theatre is a rather personal one. At 61, the Strictly Ballroom star is excited to add some fun and humour to an often-unpleasant stage of life that she and many women her age experience yet is considered taboo to talk about.

As one of the stars of Menopause The Musical, Tara will be hitting the stage at Sydney's State Theatre for a limited two-week run from September 19 alongside Erika Heynatz, Emma Powell and Cherine Peck.

"I've been going through menopause myself the last five or six years, so it'll be good to have a laugh and a sing about it, and a dance," Tara tells Woman's Day.

"Because, to be honest, I'm so glad that the world's talking about it so much more now. When I started going through perimenopause when I was in my early 50s, I didn't know that much about it. I thought I was going crazy. So I'm just so happy that it's out there so much more."

A PROBLEM SHARED

Not just a fun night out, Tara says the show is also educational.
