JUNE LOCKHART - HOLLYWOOD'S FAVOURITE TV MUM TURNS 100

A slice of cheesecake is in order as she rings in her centenary

Showbiz legend June Lockhart, who remains beloved for having played two of Tinseltown’s most iconic TV mums during her stellar 88-year acting career, excitedly reveals she'll be tucking into homemade cheesecake to mark her 100th birthday on June 25.

“My daughter and granddaughter are planning to spend the day with me. I love cheesecake, so my daughter will make my favourite. It'll be a wonderful celebration,” smiles June in an exclusive interview with Woman's Day from her Los Angeles home.

While being one of the last surviving stars of Hollywood's golden era - and having appeared in over 35 movies alongside acting greats including Bette Davis, Judy Garland, Gary Cooper and Lana Turner - June remains treasured by fans as one of TV's most loved mums. There's her Ruth Martin from the '50s classic Lassie and Dr Maureen Robinson on the '60s sci-fi series Lost In Space.

“I can’t believe I'll be 100. I certainly don’t feel that old,” smiles the remarkably spry star, who made her stage debut at eight in New York's Metropolitan Opera.
