FIONA PHILLIPS FROM STARDOM TO HEARTACHE

The beloved British presenter is living with early onset Alzheimer's
-
For decades, high-profile British TV couple Fiona Phillips and Martin Frizell led busy, exciting lives.
Fiona was the bubbly, longtime host of popular breakfast show GMTV (Good Morning Television), while Martin, a reporter whose stories often appeared on Seven’s Sunrise, was also a successful TV executive.
Both loved their jobs, and were recognised by millions across the UK and beyond. Sadly, those days are in the past, and tragically, Fiona, 64, can no longer even recall them. She can no longer get dressed unaided, or brush her teeth without Martin's help.
The couple's lives came crashing down in 2022, when doctors delivered Fiona with a devastating diagnosis, she had early onset Alzheimer's disease.
Since then, the progressive brain disorder has been gradually destroying her memory and eroding her ability to make decisions. The fast and fascinating life they once enjoyed together has ground to a halt.
Nowdays, instead of enjoying an evening meal, reflecting on the day's headline-making events or attending an opening night show, theirs is a lonely existence.
"Fiona owns so many beautiful designer clothes, but they will never be worn by her again," Martin tells Woman's Day.
