A night at the theatre

Forget five-star hotels, this may just be the ultimate pampering experience ...
Decisions. What to pack? I started with my toothbrush, paste, moisturiser and night cream. The essentials. Did I need a sleep mask? Why not. I packed my book, then another book in case I finished the first book. My knitting went in as I may have time to do a few rows, as did my “word search” activity book. Then my clothes. When I was sitting up in bed receiving visitors, I wanted to look glamorous, like Elizabeth Taylor circa 1961. My hair all brushed and shiny, my outfit floaty and sensual, a peignoir set in chiffon perhaps. But the best I could come up with was a flannelette nightie from an op shop (where all the softest flannelette nighties go). It had lace around the collar and pearl buttons, so I convinced myself this was something La Liz would have worn in a more casual setting. I packed my Ugg boots, phone charger, phone and off I went. The excitement was palpable as my Uber arrived to take me to ... the Memorial Hospital.
Yes, I was going into hospital for a small procedure on my sinuses which required an overnight stay, and I simply could not have been more thrilled.
