The town is perhaps best known for the Mayberry Cafe, which fans of The Andy Griffith Show flock to from around the world. Get your picture taken with the squad car outside and then head in to enjoy the comfort food you would swear Aunt Bee cooked. Memorabilia from the show lines the walls, menu items are named a‰er characters and you can watch the show on TVs, visible from every seat while you eat.

Another foodie destination is the Bread Basket Cafe & Bakery, a mother-daughter operation serving breakfast and lunch. Known for its stunning and delectable pies and cakes made from scratch in-house, this restaurant has even received national attention from The Today Show.
