I've just returned from a flying visit to Hamburg where I spent a couple of days seasonal shopping in the Christmas markets.

Incidentally, I'd highly recommend the market at nearby Lübeck - the Hanseatic city has a beautiful old town (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), which draws crowds from near and far in search of glühwein and all sorts of delicious delicacies.
