Art Trail With The Masters
Outlook Traveller
|April - May 2026
Spain invites travellers to follow the footsteps of some of the greatest artists who ever lived. From the fantastical architecture of Antoni Gaudí to the dreamlike visions of Salvador Dalí and the restless creativity of Pablo Picasso, the country feels like a living gallery.
-
In fact, Spain is celebrating the 100th anniversary of Gaudí in 2026, marking the enduring legacy of the architect whose work reshaped modern architecture. His buildings blur the line between art and structure, turning stone, iron and glass into organic forms inspired by nature. Following this art trail across Spain is not just a museum-hopping exercise. It is a journey through towns and landscapes that shaped these masters.
Gaudí Beyond Barcelona
Any exploration begins in Barcelona, where Gaudí's imagination transformed the skyline. His unfinished masterpiece, Sagrada Família, one of the most extraordinary churches in the world, has been under construction since 1882. The main tower was completed this year, making it the tallest church in the world. Its soaring spires, intricate façades and forest-like interior columns reveal Gaudí's belief that architecture should mimic the rhythms of nature.
