Fitness+

Apple has transformed how we work out and monitor our health with Apple Watch. Though its subscription service Fitness+ is not quite as ubiquitous just yet, it's gaining ground and offering consumers new ways to stay fit from the comfort of home in a post-COVID era.

THE RISE OF APPLE FITNESS+

Apple's fitness subscription service, Apple Fitness+, was developed to help Apple Watch and iPhone owners keep fit through guided workouts available across different categories, and the service has grown a great deal in recent years. The service, which launched in late 2020 at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, provides access to workout routines that can be repeated from the comfort of your own home, with or without equipment like treadmills and elliptical machines. Fitness+ content can be watched through the Fitness app on the iPhone, iPad, and Apple TV, and Fitness+ can also be AirPlayed to AirPlaycompatible. For users with an Apple Watch, the service automatically pairs with the wearable to track your movement, workout length, calories burned, heart rate, and more, and stats are displayed on the iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV in real-time so you can see how you're performing as you go. To further push users to go further, Apple allows comparisons with other people who have done the workout and a countdown timer to monitor your progress during tough workouts.
