THE MUSIC OF LOVE IN TOKYO (1966)

Pramod Chakravarty saw success with his Asha Parekh – Joy Mukherji starrer ‘Ziddi’. This gave him the courage to launch a movie on a bigger canvas and ‘Love In Tokyo’ was the result.

The same pair of Asha Parekh and Joy Mukherji was repeated and music magicians Shankar Jaikishan replaced S D Burman. Lavish locales and superb music did the rest and ‘Love In Tokyo’ became a blockbuster.

Without doubt, Shankar Jaikishan’s music took a lion’s share in the success of the film.
