Sharp, fast, everyday essential lens
A 50mm lens, often called the 'nifty-fifty,' serves as the 'normal' lens for full-frame cameras, typically fast, lightweight, and high-performing. Keeping Nikon's renowned high standards, this all-black lens feels solidly built, with 'Nikkor' etched in standout silver trim and a clear lens mount index. Unlike many lenses with plastic filter threads, this one uses metal for durability, plus it has some weather sealing to handle real-world use. The 62mm filter thread pairs with a metal mount, and it's proudly made in Japan. Up front, there's a 35mm-wide rubberized, ribbed focusing ring near the filter end, while an 8mm-wide knurled control ring sits closer to the camera body, you can program it to tweak aperture, ISO, or exposure compensation. Eleven gold-plated contacts ensure seamless data flow between lens and camera.
