Continuous innovation in e-readers

The first thing one notices is that the Kindle Paperwhite 12th generation is noticeably larger (7 inches vs 6.8 inches of 11th gen) and slightly thinner. That difference seems very small and subtle, but if you have been using a previous generation Kindle everyday, you will feel the difference initially. Does it bother too much? May be just initially, but once I started using it, I got used to it and hardly noticed the size difference.
The new model feels smoother, though this could partly be due to it being newer or it is shaped that way. Overall the grip experience when lying down to read is quite comfortable, and the difference is not large enough to be bothersome. The smoother finish might occasionally feel a bit slippery, though this isn't a major concern.
