Fair's no other way

Green, ethical, easily fixed..but is the Fairphone 5 good enough in its own right?

The Fairphone philosophy remains unchanged: every handset is sustainably made, assembled by workers who are paid a fair wage, and easy to repair. Pop off the Fairphone 5's back with a fingernail and you'll find a battery that can be replaced; a single screwdriver then lets you remove a whole stack of other parts, including the camera modules, speaker and screen. It's not unlike a very small Lego set.

This OLED display is a huge upgrade over the previous model's smaller LCD panel. It's reasonably sharp and colourful, gets just about bright enough for outdoor use, and ticks along at 90Hz for mostly stutter-free scrolling.
