Aditya Birla Group has acquired Cargill's specialty chemical manufacturing plant in the US.

Aditya Birla Group, one of India’s top multinationals and the biggest Indian investor in the U.S., has announced a new move for its U.S. Advanced Materials division.

The company acquired a 17-acre specialty chemical plant in Dalton, Georgia, from Cargill Incorporated. This deal marks a step forward in Aditya Birla’s growth plan in the U.S. manufacturing sector, which now exceeds $15 billion in investments.

Kumar Mangalam Birla, chairman of the group, said the purchase signals a new entry into the U.S. chemicals market. It also builds on the success of other manufacturing brands like Novelis and Birla Carbon in the country. Birla explained that their U.S. growth plan focuses on using their manufacturing skills to help boost American industry.
