Armari has opted for the desktop Ryzen 9 rather than workstation-oriented Ryzen Threadripper for its lower-cost entry this month. It's the latest version with 3D V-Cache, which can boost performance with certain software.
The Ryzen 9 9950X3D has the same 16 cores (32 threads) as the standard 9950X, running at a base 4.3GHz with a 5.7GHz boost, but the L3 cache is doubled to 128MB. Armari partners this with an extremely generous 128GB of 5,600MHz DDR5 memory, supplied as two 64GB modules. Even better, the Asus ProArt X870E-Creator WiFi motherboard has four DIMM slots, so you can add more easily.
