How is the die & mould segment evolving in India's current manufacturing landscape?
The Indian die & mould industry is undergoing a multifaceted transformation, marked by structural and technological advancements. The core die & mould segment is witnessing robust growth, expanding at a 11.6% CAGR and outpacing several other manufacturing sub-sectors.
Automotive: The transition to electric vehicles (EVs) has shifted demand away from traditional engine components toward large-scale structural dies and complex battery enclosures. This has created a massive spike in demand for high-cavity, high-precision injection moulds for connectors, casings, and internal sub-assemblies.
Medical: Post-pandemic investments have strengthened demand for high-margin micro-moulding and LSR moulds used in diagnostic kits and medical implants. The industry is now gearing up for Die & Mould India 2026 (April 21–24, Mumbai), where a record number of indigenous high-precision solutions are expected to be showcased.
How are the automotive, aerospace, and electronics sectors reshaping tooling technology demands?
In 2026, automotive, aerospace, and electronics are collectively driving a new phase of innovation in tooling and mould manufacturing. The expectation has moved beyond faster production to intelligent, high-precision, and sustainable engineering systems capable of handling advanced materials and complex geometries.
