18 FACTS ABOUT NVIDIA

Know more about the world's biggest company
For most of us, Nvidia was always that company that made powerful graphics cards. And that was never a very wrong interpretation of its overall image until 2017, when the cryptocurrency boom suddenly catapulted Nvidia into a behemoth in the crypto mining space.
Gamers bore the brunt of this as their beloved GPUs started selling for unbelievably high prices. And by the time things cooled down, the age of generative AI was here. And again, Nvidia was at the forefront of this revolution. It solutions are now the backbone of hundreds of data centers that run generative artificial intelligence projects.
All this has made Nvidia a $3.5 trillion company, and it has achieved that milestone in record time. But these are just basic facts that even ChatGPT can tell you! Here are 18 facts about Nvidia that will give you a completely new picture of the tech giant.
1. When it comes to gaming GPUs, Nvidia boasts a whopping 88% market share worldwide. That leaves just 10% for the likes of Intel and AMD. Now, that’s comprehensive dominance.
2. Do you know where the name Nvidia comes from? At first, the founders named it NV for “next version,” but when it came time to incorporate the company, they tried to change it to Nvision. While that could have been a great name, it turned out that a toilet paper company had already snapped it up. Finally, it was Jensen Huang who suggested Nvidia to imitate the Latin word “invidia,” which stands for “envy.”
