|October 31, 2025
The partnerships bring together carmakers, ride-hailing networks, and next-generation vehicle platforms under Nvidia’s Drive Thor and Drive Hyperion ecosystems—hardware and software solutions that fuse real-time data processing, sensor integration, and machine learning to enable safer, smarter, and eventually self-driving vehicles.

Uber will use Nvidia’s technologies to train and operate its autonomous fleet simulation systems, while Stellantis, Lucid, and Mercedes-Benz plan to embed Drive Thor chips directly into upcoming models to handle both infotainment and driving-assistance functions on a single AI platform.
UNITING INDUSTRY GIANTS UNDER A SHARED AI FRAMEWORK
UNITING INDUSTRY GIANTS UNDER A SHARED AI FRAMEWORK At the core of Nvidia’s automotive strategy is consolidation—creating a unified computing backbone capable of supporting every layer of modern mobility, from driver-assistance features to full autonomy and fleet management. The company’s new Drive Thor chip delivers up to 2,000 teraflops of performance, making it one of the most powerful vehicle processors ever built. Its efficiency allows automakers to replace multiple domain controllers—previously used separately for infotainment, instrument clusters, and driver-assistance—with a single chip capable of handling all tasks simultaneously.
Uber’s role adds an entirely new dimension to Nvidia’s network. The ride-hailing giant plans to use Nvidia’s simulation and generative AI tools to train and validate self-driving systems across virtual environments that mimic real-world traffic conditions. By using Nvidia’s Omniverse and Isaac Sim technologies, Uber can reduce the time and cost required to test autonomous algorithms in physical environments. The result is a tighter feedback loop between digital twins and real-world fleet deployment— allowing Uber to bring self-driving capabilities online faster and with greater confidence in safety performance.
