YORK City kept a sixth clean sheet of the season – but couldn’t force another late winner against a resurgent Aldershot Town side.
The miserly Minstermen continued to be one of the strongest defences in the National League, led by a colossal performance from Callum Howe to repel the previously prolific home attack.
City, though, failed to find a way through at the other end in a breathless game which deserved a goal but neither side deserved to lose.
Aldershot lost skipper Ollie Harfield to a serious-looking knee injury, which saw him stretchered off after just 18 minutes, but the hosts kept a rare clean sheet to put a positive sheen on a third consecutive draw.
A combination of committed defending and wayward finishing ensured that this would not be another goalfest at the EBB Stadium but that could not dampen the intensity or entertainment.
