What is the club called? Silhillians RUFC, having been Old Silhillians RUFC until 1981.

Where is home? The Memorial Clubhouse, Knowle, Solihull. Right on junction five of the M42.

When and how did the club start? It was formed in 1932 as an old boys’ club for the leavers of Solihull School, playing at Broomfields, which was grazing land for Mr Price’s horses. The changing rooms were in Mill Lane with a tin bath and cold water, and Bill Wigley’s snooker room was used for selection meetings. When war broke out, the first XV were called up, and it wasn’t until 1946 that the club was reformed by Alan Bradbury, CT Coton and Mel Cooper.
