Angela Harrison leads Christmas tribute to greyhound racing legend

Newcastle dogs fans will rise in applause for one of the greyhound stadiums great heroes at their stadiums's seasonal showpiece this Christmas.

Racing Ahead is pleased to highlight Angela Harrison's tribute to her late partner Jimmy Wright ahead of this year's All England Cup final at the city's iconic dog track, a competition they won three times together, and her bid to raise further public awareness of the tragic impact of Motor Neurone disease.

Angela said: “Motor Neurone Disease is a cruel condition which, devastatingly, took the life of my partner Jimmy Wright in February this year.

“Jimmy was greyhound racing through and through, and the sport gave him a purpose in life right until the very end. A competition which was always highly regarded in Jimmy's eyes was the All England Cup at our local track Newcastle, and we were fortunate to win it on three occasions with Droopys Expert (2017), Droopys Verve (2018) and Moanteen Mikey (2021).
