ALESSIA RUSSO "SCORING THAT BACKHEEL IN 2022 WAS GREAT - PEOPLE TRUST ME TO TRY THINGS"

Going into the last Euros, you were about to make your tournament debut. Now you're a senior player - how has your role changed?

In 2022, it was my first tournament, so I just wanted to go in, enjoy it and soak up the experience, taking every day as it came. Now being more experienced, it's important to lead, whether that's on the pitch or helping the younger players who want to tap into that. I need to be ready to perform, as we know the standard - you need to be at your best.

Does going in as Euros holders bring extra pressure?

Yeah, but I don't look at it as pressure. Maybe from the outside, it's perceived as that, but I think it's an expectation of me to be ready.

You've spoken previously about not being the most vocal sort of person. How does that translate to your role in the dressing room?
