Caleb Ewan seeks to rebuild on home soil

Aussie impresses as part of national team

Caleb Ewan is one of the world’s best sprinters but even he feels nervous at the beginning of a new campaign, and following a winter of change, his start to 2023 was no different.

Ewan lined up at the Tour Down Under last week racing for the Australian national team instead of his newly relegated Lotto Dstny squad, which with new sponsors, new performance staff and new riders, opted to focus on a training camp in Spain.

The 28-year old didn’t win a stage but claimed the prelude criterium in what signalled a return to form after a couple of crash-marred seasons he has not dwelled on.

“I just keep training hard, do what I do and hope that it’s good enough,” Ewan said.
