It was heartbreak and glory rolled into one for Indian teenager Sarthak Chavan at the TVS Asia One-Make Championship, held as a support event to Round 4 of the Asia Road Racing Championship at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit in Indonesia from August 29 to 31. Chavan finished second in both races, with the second outing producing a dramatic photo finish where he missed victory by just 0.007 seconds. With multiple podiums and consistent performance, Chavan has been outstanding but needs to chalk out a win quickly to remain in contention.

Race 2 turned out to be the highlight of the weekend. Starting from fifth on the grid, Chavan lined up behind his Indian teammate Chiranth Vishwanath in third, while the third Indian rider, Rakshith Sri Hari Dave, began from 13th. The eight-lap contest got off to a tense start when Hiroki Ono crashed but quickly rejoined. By the second lap, Chavan had climbed to third while Chiranth slipped to fourth. Dave made early progress as well, surging into eighth.
