Artillery, the King of Battle, has been in focus, especially post-Ukraine War. It is no longer the Arm with a long-range gun but has become complex with the command-and-control structure, different platforms and to reach the enemy accurately with minimum ammunition expenditure and cause the maximum damage outlines the criticality of this equipment in the army's arsenal

MULTI-PLATFORM ARTILLERY SYSTEMS

The evolution of modern artillery systems can be traced back to the transformative advancements made since the early 20th century. These have moved on from being stationary weapons such as field guns and howitzers often limited in range and accuracy, considered by the technologies of their time. The introduction of more mobile artillery pieces and the development of self-propelled artillery provided greater tactical flexibility and allowed easier repositioning on the battlefield. Advancements in materials science, ballistics and targeting systems transformed artillery into precision instruments of warfare.

As battlefield requirements are fast changing, there is always one constant and that is the need for targeting enemies with precision strikes, tactical mobility, and command & control capabilities. In the scenario post the Russo-Ukrainian War, there is increasing demand for modern light artillery systems with enhanced firepower. It has to address the requirements of modern armies of the world in an evolving combat scenario with compact, robust, lightweight, ruggedized, mobile, all-weather, all-terrain 105mm and 155mm next-generation artillery gun platforms. These next-gen artillery platforms have to feature disruptive technology, responsive and survivable fires, transportability, and added lethality, and will optimize crew size due to fewer logistics requirements. The 105-mm and 155-mm howitzers will need to deliver firepower and mobility while remaining lightweight and modular.

Today, modern artillery systems encompass a wide array of technologies, including automated guidance and advanced munitions. These systems have advanced weaponry, mobility systems, targeting technologies, and communication networks. Each of these plays a significant role in ensuring that artillery units can deliver precise and timely fire support.
