Kimberley Hodson-Walker's fungi macro shot comes under the microscope

This photo was taken in the woods near me and features mushrooms growing out of the tree. Using my Canon 650D with a 55mm lens and a macro adapter, I set the camera to portrait mode to capture a closeup image of these mushrooms growing on the tree. I moved as close as I possibly could to highlight their detail and texture, even getting scratched by some thorns in the process of doing so. To achieve the final shot, it required some patience, steady positioning and attention to light.
