Judge rejects remorse claim of released robber

A convicted robber who had been released from detention beat and robbed a teenage boy on a busy Leeds street just minutes after leaving a probation appointment.
Rio Donegan crossed the street and targeted the boy, punching him several times and then stealing his bag before walking away.
An appeal was launched by police to find him, the incident having been caught on city centre CCTV.
Leeds Crown Court heard 20-year-old Donegan had been previously held in youth detention, serving a 35-month sentence for robbery.
On February 14 of this year he attended his appointment in relation to his release from that sentence.
