The world already knows that Pakistan is a terrorist state. But what continues to astonish is its sheer shamelessness. Clearly, this is a country where honour and disgrace mean nothing.

- By Rakesh Sharma

On April 22, in a gruesome act of terror, Pakistan-sponsored terrorists in Pahalgam asked 27 unarmed Hindu tourists their religion before brutally gunning them down in front of their families. The incident shocked the collective soul of the Indian nation. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in an immediate decision taken during a meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security, granted the Indian military full freedom to retaliate and imposed additional punitive measures—including the suspension of the 1960 Indus Waters Treaty.

Under this treaty, India had been generously allowing 70% of river waters to flow into Pakistan while managing with just 30% for itself. Despite changing geopolitical realities, India had long requested a review of the treaty—requests Pakistan repeatedly ignored.
