Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla today flagged off an anti-drug awareness rally at Mehla in Chamba district, underscoring the importance of staying away from drugs to safeguard cultural heritage.
“We can preserve our culture only if we stay drug-free. Ending the demand is the key to ending the supply,” he said while addressing a Kisan Mela and Drug De-addiction Awareness Camp at the local Khel Maidan.
The event was organized by Dr. Yashwant Singh Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni, in collaboration with Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Chamba. Hundreds of school students participated in the awareness rally, raising slogans against drug abuse and spreading a strong social message. Speaking on the occasion, the Governor stressed that drug addiction is not merely a personal issue but a major societal threat.
